Disconnect the cable from the hook-up outlet socket on the bollard and then remove the cable from your unit. Owners of motorhomes must not leave their hook-up cable connected to the site bollard as a marker for an occupied pitch when temporarily off site. If you want to mark your pitch with the cable, disconnect it first. If the loss of supply is because you have overloaded the circuit or misused your equipment there may be a charge for restoring your electricity supply. Please do not ask site staff to attend to hook-ups before 9am or after 8pm unless it is an emergency. On other sites Not all campsites are run to the same high standards as those of the Club, but all should have their electrical supply checked each year and hold a certificate showing the supply has had its annual inspection. If in doubt about a hook-up, speak to the site owner before connecting up. Most Club sites are able to provide a 16A electrical supply, but some are limited to supplying 10A. In comparison, a modern domestic kitchen typically has a power supply of 20A, plus a separate electric cooker supply and a lighting supply.

Loaded the van last night possibly with a little too many bits and pieces. Drives well though, cruises much smoother after the Easter trip and the recent engine and gearbox oil change. Arrived at check in a little earlier than planned and put on the 7. More time on the road in France. We are aiming for a France Passion location near Vivonne just south of Poitiers which promises goats cheese and organic bread. The toll motorways are fabulous and we made good progress.

This year, we decided on the opposite and headed South for the Winter. Not wanting to follow the Pacific Highway the whole way, we decided on the less travelled inland route, via the New England Highway for the most part. We spread the trip out over two weeks and discovered some great new places that are really worth checking out, so we thought we would share them with you here. Sunny Coast to Toogoolawah We left Eumundi due south to Beerwah before we headed up the range to Peachester, a beautiful little village on top of the range and a great place to stop for lunch.
From there, we headed via Kilcoy and pushed onto one of our favourite little towns at Toogoolawah. They have recently opened a great little free camp right in the middle of town and we got there early enough to get a bit of shopping done at the IGA and the local butcher. Great Beef Cheeks — the meat not the butcher We spent the next day exploring town again and this time we broadcast live on Facebook.
You can see a copy of the broadcast below as we explore the main street and highlight all the town has to offer. FRC Live from Toogoolawah Toogoolawah to Toowoomba From Toogoolawah we pushed on to the higher ground heading for Toowoomba, via Esk, another great little country town worth a stopover. You can get across from Esk to Toowoomba via the Esk-Hampton Road, but we were warned it was probably not the best route for big rigs. Other caravanners who have been this way might be able to help us out with comments below as to the road conditions via that route.
The climb up the mountain into Toowoomba was long and steep, and my personal opinion; if you are a towing a car, take it off for the climb. The guys there were amazing and spent an hour trouble shooting for me until they finally found out it was a faulty coffee machine. Arrrh, but seriously they were really thorough and knew their stuff, so I am happy to recommend them.

After almost 30 years in a suit and tie and after hundreds of thousands of frequent flyer miles made on business, we decided it was time for us to choose our own destination and took the decision to turn our hobby into our profession. We want to share our passion for motorhome travel, for foreign cultures and other peoples. Michael is German and grew up near Frankfurt in Germany. Audrey is English and grew up north of London. We met in while studying at University in Sheffield.
After graduating we first moved to Germany. We lived in France for three years, in Spain for four years and then spent three years in the US. During this time we went on camping holidays with the children travelling at first with a tent and then with a caravan and in the US with rented motorhomes. We moved back to Germany in and bought our first motorhome in Since then we have travelled extensively through many European countries. Keep doing what you’re doing!!

Farewell to Microsoft Autoroute – Discontinued in If you are familiar with our blog, you’ll know Microsoft Autoroute features heavily in our route planning and navigation. Last year I spent the best part of a day compiling and formatting a data set in Microsoft Excel for use with Autoroute. Over , lines of information were formatted as hyperlinks to take you direct to where the information was displayed online from several sources.
It has been downloaded more than 10, times – so at least I know I’m not alone. If you were one of them – please complete the poll at the bottom of this blog post and let me know if you’d download a version. However on the 31st December you will no longer be able to buy Microsoft Autoroute via the online Microsoft Store. It also seems that all of the CD copies have dried up too and so if you want it you need to act fast, buy online and once downloaded ensure you backup the installation files as I’m not sure you’ll be able to access them again.
The feedback and enthusiasm from our users have helped make Microsoft travel planning software a leading solution for nearly twenty years. The retirement of these products will not affect software already installed. If it was purely navigation you are after then I concede that there are better devices or software available to perform that task.

Jul 30, · Last year I installed a 4-point electrical hook up for motor homes on a small camping site. It’s a proper caravan hook up box with four outlets each protected by a 2-pole 16A 30mA RCBO. it’s mounted on a sturdy wooden pillar.
Introduction Back in December last year we collected our caravan from the dealer after a minor repair. When we got home we had some difficulty with the motor mover which in turn made it difficult to get back in the garden. It was at that point we started to think seriously about whether we should have a motorhome. We agonised over the decision because not only was it going to cost a lot of money it would be a very different way of camping compared to the caravan.
Clearing the shelves in WH Smith of motorhome magazines did not really enlighten us a lot as they seemed to be encouraging everyone to buy Continental vans. Also some of the layouts were strange, at least to us, with very high beds and not being as agile as I once was this style was dismissed.
